Non members are always welcome at our pool sessions and on club trips. This is an excellent way to get to know the club members and most choose to join the club. The club has a substantial number of modern white water kayaks for the use of club members, non-members are welcome to use this equipment too.
Full members are those who have attained the age of 18 years before the start of the next membership subscription.
Youth members are those who have attained the age of 16 years but not yet reached 18 years before the start of the next membership subscription.
Junior members are those who have attained the age of 11 years but not yet reached 16 years before the start of the next membership subscription. It is a condition of this category of membership that a parent or legal guardian of the Junior member shall also be a full Club member.
Child members are those who have not yet reached 11 years before the start of the next membership subscription. It is a condition of this category of membership that a parent or legal guardian of the Child member shall also be a full Club member and must accompany the child on the water at all times.
Family members are the spouses of full members. Parents and children of full members are also eligible for family membership if they reside at the same address.
Country members are those who are normally resident outside a radius of 25 miles from the Hall of Memory, Birmingham. They may not reside within this radius for more than three months of the subscription year. Spouses of Country members may become Family members.
The membership year starts when you join and until the end of the month on your expiry card; usually 12 months.

In the interest of the Club and its members you are required (within 6 months of joining) to attend the Clubs Safety and Rescue training or to have previously completed a BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue (FSRT) Course or White Water Safety and Rescue (WWSR) Course. Please notify one of the Committee members if you need to participate in an event.
It is a condition of membership that the Club cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage caused by, or sustained by any member or visitor to the Club or their property on any occasion, however caused. Parents of members under 18 must also accept this limitation.
The Club reserves the right to revoke membership without reimbursement of any fees paid or refuse membership on application.
The Club reserves the right to refuse entrance to the pool, reservoir or trips without prior notice if there is reason
to believe there is a risk to the safety of the club or its membership.
Any Committee Member, acting on behalf of the membership, has authority to speak for the best interest of the Club;
the Clubs decision is final.
